The Productive Kitchen project has developed an innovative and holistic approach that engages the local community in its work and activities.
The impact of this approach has been felt throughout the local area by supporting the creation of job opportunities for women who previously struggled to access employment – many of whom are widows and looking to develop their skills and their ability to provide healthy meals for their family.
Suppliers have also benefited from the Kitchen’s considerable and ongoing investment in the procurement of raw materials and equipment from the local economy.
In 2015 we partnered with the Royal Charity Organization to deliver therapuetic aid to families in Bahrain.
In total our work reached 21 families, and aid was donated to individuals who had become orphans or who were widowed.
To deliver the therapeutic aid we worked closely with a specialist medical team, who were able to advise and supervise the programme and ensure it was delivered effectively.
Working with the Ministry of Justice and Islamic Affairs, Lamar Holding was a proud sponsor of the Soqia project.
The project saw bottles of water distributed to people fasting through the holy month of Ramadan. This occurred throughout the four Governorates of Bahrain; the Capital, Northern, Southern and Muharraq.
Since 2015, in collaboration with the Ministry of Justice and Islamic Affairs, Lamar Holding has sponsored underprivileged families throughout the Kingdom of Bahrain, covering a whole year’s salary for each family.
